Gordon Ramsay-inspired meatball recipe
Ingredients
- 400 g minced beef
- 200 g minced pork
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 eggs
- 100 ml whole milk
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 3 tablespoons of chopped parsley
- 1 tablespoon basil
- 1 teaspoon of oregano
- 50 g of grated Parmesan cheese
- salt and ground black pepper
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil For the sauce:
- 2 shallots
- 1 red pepper
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 100 ml of white wine
- 400 g of pellets
- 1 tablespoon basil
- 1 teaspoon of oregano
- salt and pepper
Directions
- In a small bowl, pour the milk over the crumbs and let them soak.
- In a large bowl, add the ground beef, pork, eggs, garlic, Parmesan, parsley, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Add the soaked breadcrumbs and mix gently with your hands to form a uniform mass.
- Form walnut-sized balls.
- Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan and fry the balls on all sides until golden brown. Remove.
- Add a little more oil to the same pan and sauté the shallots and peppers until softened.
- Add the garlic and fry for 1 more minute.
- Pour in white wine and cook until the wine boils.
- Add the canned tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt and pepper. Stir.
- Return the meatballs to the sauce, cover and cook on low heat for 20–25 minutes.
Serve with pasta, bread or rice. Sprinkle with freshly grated cheese if desired and garnish with basil leaves.
