The group that rewrote the guidelines of tango, Gotan Project, is coming to Ljubljana. For a decade, they have been delighting us with their unique musical collage of tango, electronic music and musical genres such as dub, hip hop, jazz all the way to chanson and ambient music. Their music is considered to be sensual, charming, passionate and sophisticated, and at the same time it appeals to people of all ages and all musical tastes. Their creative base is located in Paris. Cohen Solal from France, Eduardo Makaroff from Argentina and Christoph H. Mueller from Switzerland are largely responsible for the global enthusiasm for tango in the last decade, conditionally called electrotango. Gotan is an anagram of the word tango, which testifies to the fact that the guys are fundamentally committed to the Argentine musical tradition, but they skillfully add a touch of the best from various musical traditions. This is how they have created a recognizable sound. Along the way, they have recorded some very resonant and well-received albums. Gotan Project achieved international breakthrough with their first studio album La revancha del tango, which sold over a million copies. This was followed by an equally successful second album, Lunático, which delved deeper into the sounds of tango, from traditional to modern versions by master Astor Piazzolla. The boys will present their third album, Tango 3.0, live. On the album, they remain true to their fundamental principles, but they have once again managed to push musical boundaries by inviting a number of exceptional guests and collaborators to join them. We will hear for ourselves how their latest musical creation will sound live in Križanke.
