The water-powered engine has been the holy grail of the automotive industry since the days of the steam carriage - an idea largely forgotten with the rise of electric vehicles. But not at Yamaha!
Yamaha has hired a designer for its water-powered concept motorcycle Maxime Lefebvre, and now the first official photos are available. It uses the engine for its operation "closed loop" water pump, that the water circulates continuously - similar to how internal combustion engines work with explosive liquids. What is driving the pump is not (yet) known, but we can guess that it is rechargeable battery.
She inspired the design language of Lefebvre 1975 Yamaha XT, a motorcycle that also won the Dakar Rally.
