The Croatian Oscar contender is a poignant drama inspired by a true story from the Bosnian War.
Halima she is a Muslim from a remote country villages in northern Bosnia, who is looking for the remains of his wife and son. Both were killed in the Bosnian War and buried in one of the many mass graves. The Commission for Missing Persons manages to identify the remains of her husband with the help of DNA analysis, but cannot find the remains of her sons. Halima must thus track down her niece, whom she has not seen for more than twenty years and who is mysteriously connected to her son. When he finds her, the day starts to boil uncontrollably horrific events from the past.
