Political intrigue, obsession with sexuality, violence, philosophical reflection and tragedy. These are all associations we get when we think of Shakespeare's most famous tragedy, Hamlet, which takes place in the Danish court. When Prince Hamlet learns of his father's death, he goes home to find that his uncle, who married his mother, has taken the throne. The ghost of his father (and former king) asks Hamlet to avenge his murder, and the drama reaches its tragic climax in the famous soliloquy with the skull, when Hamlet utters the familiar words: "To be or not to be - that is now the question."
As part of the Long Live Shakespeare! festival, which will take place in Drama until April 23, Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice will be screened on April 18, the premiere of Hamlet in the monologue version with actor Robert Korošcec will be held on April 19, the talk Will and the World will be held in the Drama cafe on April 20, and the talk What would Shakespeare think of us on April 22? On April 23, he will be in the Little Drama of the Prime Minister Macbeth, directed by Igor Pison, with Bojan Emeršič, Barbara Cerar and other famous actors in the main roles.
