Why Gillette ad pissed off insecure men?

Recently, the Gillette brand caused a real controversy with its ad that addressed the MeeToo movement (me too), sexual harassment and bullying. The new ad uses the same slogan that the company has used for 30 years: "The best a man can get", but this time they have a completely new vision, which has already made certain Gillette customers angry and confused, and some even said that "the brand insults its users".

New company ad Gillette it's not about shaving or razors - this time it's the focus to social issues, such as 'toxic' masculinity and the MeeToo movement (me too). With this ad, they are addressed issues that have been openly discussed for several years.
The ad opens with actors Idris Elba and footage of other men, and in the background we can hear a rhetorical question: "Bullying, the MeeToo anti-sexual harassment movement, toxic masculinity, is this the best a man can get?" This is followed by footage of angry teenagers chasing another boy.

The ad was posted on Sunday and is up on YouTube already almost 800 thousand negative reactions. So far, 377,000 people have responded positively to the ad. People do they even refuse to continue using Gillette products and wonder if the use of feminism as a marketing strategy has gone too far.
Pankaj Bhalla, Gillette's brand director for North America, told the media that “the conversation is absolutely necessary. If we don't talk about it, real change won't happen." He hopes they will men who viewed the ad, an inspiration to young men and to teach them how to stand up to bad behavior and how to treat people with respect.
