Ljuba and Ana's frog hiding places

The frog is a favorite animal among children, which entered the urban consciousness of all Ljubljana residents through street signs, folk songs, fairy tales, and last but not least through Plečnik's imaginative frog waste bins. In the City Museum of Ljubljana, they believed that the frog can also be a good motivation for children. However, if they wanted the permanent exhibition Faces of Ljubljana to be interesting for the youngest and their companions, it was necessary to adapt it with animation, interactive aids and various motivational techniques in the form of search, pursuit, discovery. And that's how an exciting interactive journey was created about the frog Ana, who has a sister Ljuba and lives in the nearby Ljubljana Marsh, but accidentally wandered into the museum where she is hiding. The route is intended for children between the ages of 4 and 8 who visit the museum with adult companions, as well as pre-school groups and students of the first triad of primary school, as children at this age have a special relationship with animals. In the role of detectives, children look for the frog by its tracks, but to find it, they have to thoroughly explore all the rooms and complete a whole series of tasks. Already at the reception, we are introduced to the children's trail, which has twelve stations, and a children's guide is offered. The route starts in the basement and follows the themes of the permanent exhibition, from the theme of the Transformation of Ljubljana to From Country to Country, which is on the second floor of the museum. There are several sound-supported stations for the little ones along the way. After pressing a button or using a headset, children listen to stories and prompts for activities. At six stations, they can stamp themselves with prints of objects that Ana the frog came into contact with while hiding. The guide also has space for coloring books and stickers. After successfully completing the children's route through the exhibition, children are in for a surprise in the museum shop. Children can relive their visit to the exhibition in the museum once again by coloring the outlines of Ana the frog at home.
