A hit from Sweden: how to make delicious and healthy potato milk

Drinks that are obtained from plant sources instead of from animals have a much better impact on both the environment and our health, and are the perfect choice especially for those who are sensitive to lactose and gluten. In addition to almond, coconut and soy milk, potato milk has recently entered the market and has become a real hit in Sweden. You can also prepare potato milk yourself.

The recipe for potato milk was developed by a Swedish professor Eva Tornberg, and it was started to be produced by a Swedish company Debt. This milk does not contain the usual allergens, and in addition, it has less sugar and fats like regular cow's milk. It should also help you with digest, especially if you are experiencing constipation or bloating. It is a rich resource fiber, magnesium, B vitamins, C and B12 and of iron.
Potato milk can you drink only, treat yourself to it flakes or you can enjoy your morning coffee with it coffee. It is available in three versions: usually, unsweetened and barista (milk, with which the coffee will be even tastier).

It is currently not possible to order Dug brand milk in Slovenia, but we have good news: prepare you can themselves. Don't worry: the drink has no aftertaste potatoes.

Ingredients

    Ingridients:
  • 1.5 cups of raw potatoes
  • 3.5 cups of water
  • 2 tablespoons ground almonds
  • pinch of salt
  • 4 tablespoons of maple syrup
  • vanilla extract as desired

Directions

  1. Peel the potatoes and boil them until soft (about 15 minutes).
  2. If you are going to drink the milk warm, use a stick mixer to mix the potatoes and the water in which they were cooked. But if you're going to treat yourself to cold milk, then prepare potatoes and 3.5 cups of cold water in a blender instead.
  3. Add the rest of the ingredients to the blender and mix for about 6 minutes. Then strain the milk and serve.
