The co-production with the Japanese cultural center Aichi already had its world premiere at the Aichi Triennale last year, but will begin its European journey precisely in the future European Capital of Culture. The opera, which is characterized by a genuine sense of humor and dynamic stage action, fuses fantastic, sentimental and grotesque elements, which played with the innovative approach of the internationally renowned director Jun Aguni. The story consists of different narratives, forming a collage of love, living and poetic adventures. Everything is connected by the writer Hoffmann himself, which enables contact between reality and fantasy, and takes us into a rich fantasy world. The work also promises an interesting musical journey, which will be led by the conductor Marko Letonja.
