Homemade chocolate spread (homemade Nutella)
Ingredients
- 200 g of roasted hazelnuts
- 2-3 tablespoons of cocoa powder (without sugar)
- 100 g of coconut sugar or honey
- 2 tablespoons of coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- pinch of salt
Directions
- Grind the roasted hazelnuts in a high-powered mixer or blender until you have a smooth hazelnut paste. This may take a few minutes, scraping the sides of the bowl several times in between.
- Gradually add cocoa powder, coconut sugar or honey, coconut oil, vanilla and a pinch of salt to the hazelnut paste. Blend until a smooth, creamy spread is formed.
- If you want a more runny spread, add a little more coconut oil or warm water and mix again.
- Pour the spread into a clean glass jar and store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
- Enjoy it on bread, pancakes or as an addition to various desserts.
