LEAPrus 3912 is the name of a new eco-hotel on the south side of Mount Elbrus, which lies on a dormant volcano on the west side of the Caucasus Mountains.
The building was designed by an Italian group of architects LEAPfactory, specializing in design and architecture of buildings in extreme conditions. At a height 4000 meters they built the hotel in 3 tubes (the shared bedrooms for 49 guests and the lounge are in two tubes, while the third contains the restaurant and staff quarters, while the bathrooms are located in a dislocated cube). The architects integrated various technologies into the project, especially regarding energy saving and sustainable and recycled sources. The hotel, which opened in September, is the first in a chain of projects that will revitalize the tourist potential location.
