What does the name of CeraVe cosmetics mean?

The first part of the brand name – Cera – refers to 3 types of ceramides, which are the basis of each product line. The second part of the name – Ve – is taken from the name MVE® technology, which slowly releases nutrients into the skin over 24 to 48 hours, which prolongs and increases the long-term effectiveness of the products.

How CeraVe cosmetics work

CeraVe is known for using as a base for its products ceramides. These are lipid molecules that are naturally found in our skin and are responsible for its moisture and resistance. Experts have found that a lack of ceramides leads to dehydration and inelasticity of the skin, and in the case of a larger deficit, also to different ones skin diseases, such as psoriasis, eczema, acne, dermatitis and other skin changes. Teams of dermatologists therefore wanted to create products that would be targeted promoting the creation and retention of ceramides in the skin. And so it was created CeraVe dermacosmetics. Due to the special formula, the nutrients in CeraVe products are gradually released into the skin within 24 to 48 hours. In addition to ceramides, CeraVe products also contain other natural ingredients, such as Niacinamides (vitamin B3), salicylic and hyaluronic acid, which further contribute to moisturizing the skin. At the same time, they are odorless, very mild and hypoallergenic, intended for sensitive skin.

How CeraVe became a cult cosmetic in Generation Z
