Brian Tracy is a Canadian-American motivational coach who teaches people, how to achieve your goals with these 12 secrets to success:

1. A strong desire to achieve the goal – desire will become your motivation on the way to success.
2. Make sure the goal is achievable – if you don't, you'll give up very quickly when the going gets tough.
3. Write your goal – otherwise, goals will be just dreams.
4. Make a list of benefits, which means the goal reached.
5. Set a time – you need to have a clear picture of where you start and where the finish line is.
6. Set a deadline – when you want to reach your goal.
7. Make a list of potential obstacles – you must consider all the difficulties that you may encounter on the way to success.
8. Check if you need additional information – if so, then find out where you can get them.
