In this article, we present you three methods by which you can hide your number from the public eye on Android and iPhone devices.
You should know that some mobile operators may not allow you to block the display of your number. In this case, the number will have to be hidden directly from them. However, the basic steps differ depending on the type of your device.
Hide number on iOS devices
Start in the menu Settings and select Phone, and then Show My Caller ID. In the new window, turn off the “Show My Caller ID” option to prevent your number from being displayed when calling.
Hide number on Android devices
The process starts in the app Phone, where you open the menu in the upper right corner and select Settings. Find it Call or Calling Accounts and depending on your device select Additional Settings or Supplementary Services. Then choose Caller ID and set to in the menu that appears Hide Number.
Using the star code
A method that has worked for decades involves using codes *67 before entering the phone number, which calls your call as “Unknown Number” or “Unknown Caller”. The code *67 works on iOS and Android devices and allows you to temporarily hide the number during a call. This feature is available for calls within North America and may vary if you are calling internationally or to special numbers such as emergency or toll-free numbers. It is important to know that you must enter the code *67 before each call if you want the function to work, as it is not a permanent number block. This means that if you want a permanent solution, you will need to change the settings on your device or contact your carrier to block the number.
In the UK and Ireland, use the code 141 instead.
