A plastic carrier bag is produced in 5 seconds, used for approximately 5 minutes, and takes more than 100 years to decompose. Disposing of plastic in nature is a global problem of modern society, because according to numerous studies, 10 percent of annual production, or approximately 10 million tons of plastic, ends up as waste in the sea. This does not decompose in nature, but breaks down into smaller and smaller particles.
Active involvement in environmental protection is the long-term strategy of the Tuš Group. They set out as Slovenian traders abolition of plastic shopping bags in all of their stores around Slovenia, in which they plan complete withdrawal by the end of this year. At the same time, they placed a new one at the box office paper bag, which supports responsible management of forests. From now on, customers will carry goods in durable carrier bags, paper bags, biodegradable bags or cardboard packaging. With this step, Tuš works proactively in the fight against plastic bags, which are one of the pollutants of our environment.
Andraž Tuš, director of marketing at Tuš, says:
The company hereby joins global movement in the desire to reduce the pollution of nature and in the desire for a positive acceptance of this step by customers, it tends to change the perception about the use of plastic bags in everyday purchases and in the retail industry in general.
