For everyone who would not like to spend Christmas this year again according to the good old custom, we have collected ideas for spending the traditional Christmas a little differently.
The holidays are almost here! The lights are twinkling brightly, Christmas trees have already been placed in many places, "Santa Claus" has already looted the shops, and the radio stations are cheerfully playing Christmas hits... All that's left to do is bake, have dinner with the family and enjoy Christmas. Maybe you've always spent this day at home, if you've already gone anywhere, but only until midnight - well, if you're thinking of making Christmas a little more colorful this time, we've prepared some excellent suggestions for you. Check it out, you might be tempted to make this day even more special...
Ideas for spending a traditional Christmas a little differently
1. Living nativity scene
If you love tradition, but at the same time would like to experience something new, we definitely suggest a visit to the living nativity scene. These will be prepared in many places around Slovenia, including in Postojna Cave; in the Ljubljana Zoo, where they have "the best living nativity scene in Slovenia", as camels and sheep from the zoo will also perform; at Ivan's spring in Razkrižje, where a very dynamic 60-minute show will take place in a beautiful natural environment, and in the fairy-tale forest Red Riding Hood near Ptuj, where your little ones will be greeted by many cutely decorated houses, trees and paths and a 15-minute show by the fire and hot drinks.

3. Ice Land on Congress Square
If you are not too cold, you can visit the Land of Ice, which occupies 200 square meters of Ljubljana's Congress Square. There you will come across many ice sculptures that tell a story from Ljubljana's history: piledrivers, Romans and also Plečnik's architecture. You will be able to sit in an ice vintage car or have your photo taken on an ice Roman chariot, and this year there will also be an ice dragon. You will be able to warm up in the ice bar, and the braver ones will be able to check the speed of descent down the 5-meter ice slide.
