These are the golden rules for solo travel, for all those of you who are going on the trip this time in the singular.

The rules of solo travel are simple, but the first rule is to muster up the courage and deal with all the doubts in your head and hit the road. Solo travel can indeed be one of the most liberating experiences in life that allow a lot of room for personal growth. They allow you to discover new places, meet new people and connect with yourself on a deeper level. Here are some golden rules to help you make the most of this opportunity.

Dinner in solitude

Dinner in a restaurant, with yourself, is nothing strange. In fact, it's a great opportunity to enjoy your meal without distractions or the need for conversation. Treat yourself to local specialties, enjoy the ambiance and watch the people around you. If you are uncomfortable, bring a book or notebook and write down your thoughts or impressions about the trip.

Stay in hostels

Hostels they're not just for young travelers. Many modern hostels offer comfortable and clean rooms and common areas where you can meet other travelers. This is a great opportunity to make new acquaintances, get useful tips or even find travel companions for part of your trip.

Never use up all your funds

It is always a good idea to spread your financial resources in several different ways. Keep some cash on you, some in your bank account, and maybe a credit card. In this way, you will be prepared for all situations and you will be able to successfully deal with them on your own.

Don't be afraid of loneliness

The rules of solo travel dictate a lot of alone time. Loneliness is therefore a natural part of solo travel, but it shouldn't be something you fear. Learn to enjoy your company and use this time for reflection and personal growth. If it gets too intense, join organized tours or events where you can meet other people.

Use the train

Traveling by train is a great way to explore a new country. Not only is it comfortable and often more affordable than air travel, it also allows you to see the scenery and meet the local people. In addition, train stations are usually well connected to city centers, making further exploration easier.
