Researchers say that in the next 60 years, life expectancy will rise to an incredible 125 years. Most of us would be happy with a hundred, but new research suggests that we will live much longer.
Scientists at the University of Groningen and on the Netherlands Demographic Institute have recently announced that previously predicted lifespans are rising and that there is a high probability that we will already lived 125 years in 2070.
The first person to come closest to those years was a French woman Jeanne Calment. She died at the age of 122. Although she smoked a day 2 cigarettes and she never skipped dessert, she was in good health even in her 100s. Her long life remains a mystery even to modern science, but they are believed to be responsible for it regular exercise (even at 100) and a Mediterranean diet.
Dutch researchers note that it is likely that a woman will be the first to reach the venerable age of 125 years.
