This fall, Mazda will bet everything on the new generation of the deuce, with which it has bold plans and quite a few outstanding bills. The latter applies to the sales plans, which are much more concrete than the current sales figures of this cute little one, whose current model was developed in cooperation with the then "twin" Ford.
But now a new wind has blown at Mazda and new times have come with it, which means that at this brand they are entirely responsible for the development and design of new models. The new duo thus remained true to their appearance of the hazumi concept, which Mazda presented at the previous Geneva Motor Show, the newcomer will use the design language code to enforce the attractive design principles of its larger sister models: Mazda3 and Mazda6.
Even in terms of measurements and proportions, the new two remained very similar to the hazumi study, which means that the length will slightly exceed four meters, the height will remain well under one and a half meters, and in favor of greater spaciousness compared to its predecessor, it has gained a significant greater spacing between wheeled eight.
As with the exterior image, it is also possible to draw many parallels with larger domestic models, especially the current Mazda3. Judging by the first pictures, the cabin succumbed to the modern, minimalist approach. As with most premium competition, mod(er)ni will climb out of the dashboard large screen, supported by modern information interface. Mazda2 will be practically the first to offer this in the A segment and especially in the low price range.
The star of the drive line-up is supposed to be Mazda's all-new, 1.5 liter diesel engine with the official designation SKYACTIV-D 1.5, which was developed in Hiroshima for the needs of B and C car segment models, which means that this machine will definitely be installed under the hood of the new Mazda 2 and Mazda 3. It will be able 105 hp and 250 Nm of torque, but later you can expect weaker versions of this engine. However, those who do not want a diesel in their nose will be able to reach for a new line of three-cylinder engines of the same volume in equally different performance versions.

Mazda2 will also lead the way in terms of active safety aids, as it will offer quite a few advanced ones assistance systems, among which it is worth mentioning the i-ACTIVESENSE system or a system that will warn the driver of an unintentional lane change, and in addition, the system adaptive driving dynamics.
