The renovated Ribja bridge was recently opened in Ljubljana. The dilapidated wooden footbridge was replaced by a slender steel structure that looks very elegant and modern.
The heavy wooden footbridge that connected the banks of the Ljubljanica not far from the Dragon Bridge was really worn out and needed renovation. In 2012, the Municipality of Ljubljana announced a competition for this purpose, in which the proposed solution of the architectural office won Arhitektura doo.
the author, Peter and Boštjan Gabrijelčič together with his colleague Gregor Cipot, they envisioned the new bridge as a slender steel structure that works inconspicuously and visually does not try to compete with other urban elements. steel construction the bridge is invisibly embedded in the bank and blends in color with the surroundings. The safety glass fence ends at the top with a wooden handle, which has an integrated LED lamp that discreetly highlights the bridge at night. Despite the fact that the new footbridge works very simply, every detail of it is executed very thoughtfully, and the result is elegant bridge, which will accompany Ljubljana into a beautiful future.
