Parisian furniture designer Benoit Malta presented the Inactivité two-legged chair, which ensures better well-being. The secret is in the physical activity caused by the pursuit of balance, which provides a greater awareness of our body's physiology.
Malta designed the chair with the idea of how to incorporate physical activity into a rather stagnant task - sitting. Inactivity enables new ways of sitting that include bearable discomfort, for the good of our health. With only two legs, the chair stimulates parts of the body that are otherwise passive when sitting. It is similar to a recreational ball, where a constant we are chasing balance and with this we influence the functioning of some very important muscles. The chair thus takes care of better posture and maintaining balance.
