Just why would someone bother to create realistic oil portraits? That he can then destroy them, of course! Colombian artist Cesar Biojo is doing just that. He "destroys" realistic oil portraits with a few strokes of the brush to create paintings characterized by a unique style and intimacy.
Emperor Biojo is a Colombian artist currently working on his PhD at the University of Barcelona. His oil portraits could excel realism – but that would mean the picture isn't finished. For him, the painting is only finished when the figures are painted "destroy" with quick brush strokes. Thus, he creates intimate portraits that are stylistically reminiscent of post-impressionism and attract us with the concept of destruction, which we have the impression brings new dimensions to the picture: time, movement and internal conflicts of each individual.
