The famous Gardaland is far from being the only amusement park worth visiting in our neighbor Italy. Recently, parks have also experienced a great boom in Italy, so that the region of Emilia Romana alone has more than 25 amusement parks with very different contents.
Theme parks can present cultural, historical or archaeological topics, they can draw their content from the world of animals, plants or inanimate nature... But all of them have in common that they successfully interweave educational topics with entertainment, with attractive visual effects and the most modern media technology, which amazes adults and children. We don't have to go very far to find the nearest package of this kind of fun and education. A little less than 200 kilometers by car from Ljubljana to Venice lies the tourist town Lignano, which has enriched its offer with as many as six amusement and educational parks. Parco Zoo Punta Verde is an animal park in a beautiful natural environment, which is a member of many nature conservation organizations due to its quality offer and professional approach to animal care. In the park, we will be able to walk along educational paths, watch video projections of the animal world, and we can also decide to visit the park accompanied by a professionally trained guide. V Gulliverlandia you can admire sharks, eels and stingrays in the underwater tunnel. There is also a variety of entertaining and educational shows. Water park Aquasplash with many swimming pools, slides and organized entertainment, it caters to both swimmers and non-swimmers. On the 110 kilometer long coast called Riviera Romana between the cities of Ravena, Rimini and Cattolica stretches the famous Italian La Rivirea dei Parci, a coast of parks, consisting of a group of parks that are among the largest and most interesting fun and educational theme parks in Italy or even Europe. It is no coincidence that the parks have grown up in this area, as the Romanian Riviera is one of the largest European tourist capacities with 40 million tourist visits annually.
Mirabilandia
Mirabilandia is located just a few kilometers south of Ravenna and is the largest amusement park on the Italian Adriatic coast. With 37 attractions in six themed sections and an annual visit exceeding one and a half million visitors, it is proudly counted among the leading European amusement parks. On the huge area of 700,000 square meters, nature and the most modern technology intertwine in an interesting way. Mirabilandija offers fun and relaxation for the whole family. The biggest attractions for speed lovers are Katun, a modern roller-coaster that takes us through the ancient Mayan city in dizzying turns and 360-degree turns, the Thundering Sierra, a rumbling wooden train, and the Columbia and Discovery cabin towers, in which we fly at high speed into air again on solid ground...
Oltremare
It is a new educational theme park that opened in 2004 and is located on the hill of Riccione south of Rimini. It is dedicated to a wide variety of animals, both marine and terrestrial. There you can see the largest lagoon with dolphins in Europe, admire the most unusual specimens of seahorses from around the world, learn about the habitat of the northern Italian river Po, admire birds of prey in flight and see many other amazing images from the world of nature. On an area of 110,000 square meters, we have fun and explore at the same time. Oltremare is not a zoo and it is not just an amusement park, it is a theme park with a great emphasis on educating the visitor. It is an exciting tribute to our planet and the seas.
Team IMAX
The cinema in Oltremare Park offers spectacular cinema shows. The huge movie screen is the largest in Europe. It measures 29 meters in width and 22 meters in height and is designed so that our field of vision captures only what is happening on the movie screen. In the hall with 497 seats, you can see film projections about the depths of the sea, about views of the Earth from space, about the world of bugs and dinosaurs. An unforgettable movie experience for sure!
Aquafan
The Riccione Hill Park is one of the most famous water parks and the largest of its kind in Europe, with many swimming pools, water shows and music and entertainment on 100,000 square meters. Children are also taken care of with many picturesque pools of all kinds from the world of imagination. Aquafan is also known for having dictated fashion trends in Italy since its beginnings in 1987, as many celebrities from the world of film and fashion come to Riccione for their holidays. In August, two discotheques provide nightlife, and the pools are then open until midnight. Above all, a visit to the Walky Cup disco is a must for anyone who wants to be in the center of the action. Cattolica Aquarium in Park Le Navi Cattolica is a huge water park on the coast of Cattolica south of Rimini, dedicated to the sea and its inhabitants. A huge complex of buildings resembling a fleet of ships was built as early as 1934 in honor of Italian colonization. In 1999, it was renovated and turned into a modern scientific laboratory and water park, which also captivates us with its imaginative architectural solutions. More than 3,000 species of marine animals live in 70 extensive seawater tanks. We can enjoy an in-depth knowledge of the marine ecosystem. We also have films, state-of-the-art animations and an interesting presentation of the marine food chain in 3D. The main attraction are sharks, there are as many as 50 species. The aquarium also offers us the opportunity to dive underwater in a special cage and meet sharks face to face.
Italy in miniature
The Italian "minimundus" is located near the town of Viserba on the coast between Rimini and Ravena. The architectural, historical and cultural heritage theme park boasts 272 stunning reproductions of architectural gems, mainly from Italy, but also from other parts of Europe. The park is also known for the beautifully landscaped green areas that surround the small buildings. But buildings aren't all this miniature world has to offer. You can take boats through a reproduction of Venice one-fifth the size of the original, meet Casanova or take part in the water battles of Cannonacqui. You can also admire the park from a bird's eye view from the Arcobaleno monorail or learn physics in the fun Science Park. But many other joys await us. If we do not manage to see everything in one day, the ticket is also valid for the next day.
Fiabilandia
Fiabilandia is a children's amusement park that takes children to the world of fairy tales and nature with its beautiful and imaginative attractions. Children will visit the castle of Merlin the Wizard, Peter Pan's house, the land of the dwarfs, the gold mine and they will even be able to crawl through the apples together with the worms.
Park opening times vary greatly depending on the season. Therefore, it is recommended to find out more about them before visiting.
