They entered the world music scene at the beginning of the nineties of the last century. They led the revival of the acid jazz music genre. In their musical expression, they combined elements of jazz and pop, as well as rock and electronics. Their first hit, When You Gonna Learn, gave them instant recognition on the Old Continent. This was followed by an album entitled Emergency On Planet Earth, which brought them fame and recognition in Australia, New Zealand, Japan... The second album, entitled The Return Of Space Cowboy, only confirmed their primacy in its genre. It was only with their third album, Traveling Without Moving, that they managed to attract the attention of the Americans as well. That's how they became world stars and a group that marked the music scene of the nineties. Lead singer Jay Kay, who has had a love of hats and unique headgear for many years, has remained loyal to the band over the years, even though the line-up has changed frequently. Drummer Derrick McKenzie has stood by him all these years, so the two boys are the only founding members of the band. The band's success has always been based on a fresh and innovative sound. At the beginning, the boys also gave a special place to texts that contained a high level of communication. Over the years, this has dried up a bit due to the commercialization of their music. But the boys promised to give free rein to their creativity after the end of the contract with Sony. They released a new album called Rock Dust Light Star. They remained faithful to the funk rhythms, but added the dance rhythms of disco and dance music. The album will also be presented at a concert in Vienna. Successful women like them When You Gonna Learn, Space Cowboy, Half The Man, Stillness in Time, Virtual Insanity, Cosmic Girl, Deeper Underground, in one form or another, will not be missing either.
