Femi Temowo in his youth he listened to West African pioneers such as Fela Kuti, Sunny Ade and Ebenezer Obey. Later he discovered the legendary Charlie Parker and classic jazz albums, such as Miles' Kind Of Blue. He was decisively influenced by the great jazz guitarist Wes Montgomery. In 2002, at the beginning of his career, Femi was approached by a renowned jazz saxophonist and hip-hop artist British Soweto Kinch and invited him to his newly formed quartet. Femi's highly successful collaboration with Soweto culminated in a nomination for Music Mercury Prize, the BBC Jazz Award for Best New Group and more MOBO awards.
With the complexity and skill of playing and the picturesque and melodic sound of the guitar, he has secured cooperation with many great musicians and artists from various genres.
