What does Jazz Festival Ljubljana 2016 bring? 18 concerts, performers from 15 countries, three continents, three world and two domestic premieres, and the focus of the festival "Jazz according to Paris". These are just a few clues that describe the upcoming Jazz Festival Ljubljana 2016. This year, between June 29 and July 2, 2016, it will be held for the 57th time in a row.
Jazz Festival Ljubljana 2016 this route will take place between June 29 and July 2 and like all 56 festival versions so far, it will be very special. The opening night itself will be a bit different, as we will be able to see a new musical performance with acrobatic elements, designed by an 18-member cast Supernatural Orchestra. The Slovenian jazz creator plays an important role in it Isidore Letinger, an acrobatic troupe Cirque Inextremiste and tightrope walking master Tatiana Mosio-Bongonga.

The festival will also highlight the increasingly important role of female creators in new jazz. We will witness the world premiere of a piano duet To Pianos – Eve Risser and Kaje Draksler, whose initiator is the Jazz Festival Ljubljana, we will also be able to listen to a Swedish female sextet Attack, led by a saxophonist Anna Högberg, and the first connection of the festival, a Japanese pianist Hiromi.
This time, the concept of the festival highlights the involvement of jazz events in the wider surroundings of Cankarjev dom even more. Z Jazz on the fourth this method was already designed last year. The organizers are introducing a new festival stage in the Park of the World of Europe, where special attention will be paid to the youngest jazz fans and promotional activities. All day event will be one of the main headliners of the festival again this year. The Cankarjev dom club will continue to be the center of events in the evening and in Saturday's traditional jazz marathon.
