Jean Paul Gaultier said goodbye with the last Pret-a-porter collection

At the recent Paris Fashion Week, fashion extravaganza Jean Paul Gaultier said goodbye with his last Pret-a-porter collection for spring and summer 2015. The designer, who is especially adored by fashion gourmands, will now dedicate all his creativity to Haute Couture collections.

On the day of the fashion show, the Parisian cinema Le Grand Rex was crowded with visitors from the world of celebrities as well as the designer's colleagues from the fashion world. Jean Paul Gaultier's last Ready-to-wear fashion show, which is known above all for its spectacular presentations and endless imagination, exceeded all expectations and resembled a fashion spectacle full of confetti and ecstasy more than a presentation of a new collection. There was no room for tears, Gaultier staged a true celebration of his immense legacy to the world of wearable fashion.

For the occasion, the cinema was transformed into a large stage, where models walked down a dramatic staircase. A collection in typical Gaultier style featured many variations of the iconic tuxedo, sports-inspired streetwear, stripped-down companions of his muses, and colorful wrestler costumes. Even the models who clicked selfies in the middle of the runway and of course the grand finale with a standing ovation were not surprised.

Jean Paul Gaultier, which reminds many of the intoxicating fragrances with the same name and the designer's devotion to navy stripes, is also designer of the now iconic triangle bra, promoted by Madonna during her performances. His contribution to popular culture includes both the costumes of many celebrities and collaborations with global brands such as Coca Cola.
