Joe Cocker is coming to Ljubljana - a legend with a rough but penetrating vocal that touches both the young and the young at heart. John Robert “Joe” Cocker was born sixty-six years ago in Sheffield, Great Britain. There are two anecdotes about how he got the stage name Joe. One says it's from a childhood game he played in his youth called Cowboy Joe, and the other says he took the name from a window cleaner from his hometown called Joe. He performed for the first time at the age of twelve, when his older brother invited him to sing at his band's concert. His role models were Ray Charles and Lonnie Donegan. After the first paths of fame, he started to step with the group The Grease Band. With a cover of the Beatles hit With a Little Help from My Friends have become very successful in America as well. He performed with the group at the legendary Woodstock festival, where they also sang Delta Lady, Something's Comin' On, Let's Go Get Stoned, I Shall Be Released and many others.
