The old man of Italian hip-hop, Jovanotti (his real name is Lorenzo Costantino Cherubini), perhaps an Italian musical institution, is coming to Slovenia. One of the true giants of not only Italian, but also world music and the author of compositions such as Serenata Rap, Penso Positivo, L'ombelico del mondo and A Te, will perform in the Stožice hall on January 12.
to Jovanotti few great Italian musicians can match (in terms of achievements, popularity or record sales). His career developed beautifully, like few others. He persistently redefined and expanded his musical expression and introduced rap, funk and world music to the audience with his own hands. Over the years, his lyrics became more and more addressed like this political, philosophical as well as religious topics.
As a kind of messenger of a generation that doesn't need to think, he became popular here too.

Jovanotti made a big splash with two albums Lorenzo 1992 and Lorenzo 1994, which brought him international success (the two albums introduced the world to compositions such as Serenade Rap, Penso Positiva, Piove). The albums Lorenzo 1997 – L'albero, Lorenzo 1999 – Capo Horn and Lorenzo 2002 – Il quinto mondo followed. During these years, Jovanotti became a better author with each album, and somewhere in between he created compositions such as L'Ombelico Del Mondo, Bella, Per te, Mi fido di te, And you, Tutto l'amore che ho and many others. In 2005 he presented himself to the world with the album Boun Sangue, in 2008 with the album Safari, in 2011 the album Ora was created, and this year the album Lorenzo 2015 CC.. The thirteenth studio album is thus again a very good musical mix, which contains pump funk, hints of disco and rhythm and blues ballads.
Jovanotti has been involved in one way or another in his more than 27-year career with big music names (Luciano Pavarotti, Eros Ramazotti, Gianna Nannini, Ben Harper, Sly & Robbie), he indulged in some excursions into literary waters, and is also known for his humanitarian work and political activism, which he regularly recorded in his music, among other things.
