The eve of the first day of summer is marked by a very special musical celebration. The summer night will this time be dedicated to the anniversary of the national radio and television, which is celebrating several important anniversaries this year, including ninety years of radio and sixty years of television broadcasting. The concert evening, as the central event of the anniversary year, will host the most outstanding domestic vocal soloists accompanied by the Big Band and the Symphony Orchestra of RTV Slovenia, who will walk through our rich cultural history with the most beautiful melodies.

For the third year in a row, the capital will enter summer with a unique spectacle after the equinox. Namely, the Shower of Colors will once again take place, with a musical treat at the end. This year, promising twenty-year-old Alan Walker, best known for his single Faded from 2015, which received a platinum award in more than 10 different countries, is coming to Ljubljana. He is currently ranked #17 on DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs of 2017, up 38 spots from the previous year, and is one of the few DJs to have surpassed 1 billion plays on YouTube. He will be followed on stage by the inspirational Mari Ferrari.

30 Slovenian master chefs will perform at the festival this year. Each evening, three of them, in the company of top-quality Slovenian wines, will present original street food dishes that they create every year especially for Sladolent. Among them we find internationally known names such as Tomaž Kavčič (Gostilna Pri Lojzetu), Janez and Tomaž Bratovž (JB Ljubljana), David Vračko (Mak), Grega Vračko (Hisa Denk), Uroš Štefelin (Vila Podvin), as well as many young chefs for whom Sladolent offers a wonderful opportunity to shine.

After the great success of the musical Mamma Mia!, which impressed both global and domestic audiences, fans of the aforementioned genre will be able to see the musical Briljantina for the first time, created in 1971 under the pen of Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey. On Broadway, it experienced as many as 3,388 repetitions in eight years, which no other musical had managed until then. Its success is also evidenced by the fact that in 1978, based on the theater's proposal, a film was made, in which the then unknown John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John played the main roles.

In the summer, movie stars also shine at Ljubljana Castle at night. In cooperation with the Municipality of Ljubljana and the Public Institute of Ljubljana Castle, Kinodvor has once again prepared a selection of some of the most popular films of the cinema season, which will be shown for 24 consecutive evenings in the annual cinema under the stars. This year, the first public projection on Slovenian screens will be held at the Castle courtyard, where five film delicacies will be shown. Tickets for all screenings are on sale starting June 13.
