One of the hottest musical innovations, the mysterious London indie-soul-funk-disco collective Jungle with a seven-piece band will invite you live to the dance floor in September at Kino Šiška.
Founding member Jungle they are Josh Lloyd-Watson and Tom McFarland or more commonly known as J and T. They became friends and neighbors at the age of nine, growing up in the west end of London. In 2010/2011, they were part of by indie band Born Blonde. They founded Jungle years ago 2013.
And so you consecrated in search of a sound that only the two of them could create. Something epic and rhythmic, euphoric and sexual. "Sound has always felt visual to us," explains a heated J. "We're looking for the feel of a video game or an animated landscape, some exaggerated, colorful, surreal place. We want everything to be even more real than it really is."
London duo Jungle is released her debut album on July 14. A self-titled album released on XL Recordings based on the success of their singles Busy Earnin', The Heat and Platoon is considered one of the most anticipated debuts this year.
And the basis for the growing enthusiasm - which they are proving nomination for BBC Sound of 2014, over 4 million video views for Platoon, tour of the USA, which was based on their performance at SXSW sold out, even before they even officially released an album in America - is a do-it-yourself story.
"We want people who come to listen to us to stun and surprise,” says T. “The point of music should be to get the hips and bodies ready to move.”
"All this started for us as an escape from reality," adds J. "But now anyone can escape to this music.”
With them you can for 14€ you escape to the music September 12 at 9 p.m. in the Šiška Cinema. Tickets are available at Eventim, on the website Cinema Šiška and in Kinu Šiška.
