An opportunity missed, another one returns. If you missed Kings of Leon in concert in Vienna four years ago, you can make up for it now. The energetic rockers are coming to their neighbors again, this time in Wiesen, not far from the Austrian capital.
Quickly get a calendar and a red felt-tip pen, with which we can circle without hesitation June 11, when they will Ottakringer Arena occupied in Wiesen Kings of Leon, the Grammy-winning American rock band, whose common journey began in childhood.
It consists of three brothers Followill – Caleb, Jared and Nathan and a cousin Matthew, who as children browsed through the musical treasury and played instruments in the church choir. Their father is a priest and the boys grew up in Tennessee, a very religious American town, but their parents allowed them to listen to music according to their taste.
So they are Kings of Leon, who took their name after their name Leon, which is the name of the father and grandfather of the three brothers, drew their first inspiration from the blues, and then honed their sound into a more alternative rock. They only achieved resounding success with their fourth album Only by the Night in 2008, five years after they released their debut record Young & Young Manhood, which he followed a year later Aha Shake Heartbreak, and again in 2007 Beacuse of the Times.
Only by the Night launched them into the UK charts and won them an award BRIT. For singles Sex on Fire, Use Somebody and Notion listeners went insane and when the album reached platinum status in America, all Leon's efforts paid off. His fifth album Come Around Sundown were released two years later, and served with a sixth one last September Mechanical Bull, which, in addition to their big, rock-infused visions, will be presented in Wiesen.
So that the few months that still separate us from the concert will not be too long, we can also watch the 87-minute documentary film Talikhina Sky, as one of their compositions is also called, and depicts the life of the four Leos.
