To begin with, the German feature-length animated film Three Bandits, made by the German author Hayo Freitag based on the well-known German picture book of the same name, will be shown at Kinobalon. In the animated film, we will meet young Tiffany, who rather than going to an orphanage, takes refuge in a cave with three bandits. The men who live in the middle of the forest hide thousands of treasures in their den, shiny and mysterious, which attract the attention of every child, including Tiffany. Tiffany gets along well with the big dark thugs, so she stays with them and roams the world with them. Near the forest, there is also a terrible orphanage, from which Tiffany ran away, and in it there are many children of different ages, who are instructed and forced to work by a real witch. Tiffany and the three thugs have a difficult task. They want to save poor children and make their lives more beautiful, and above all more adventurous, the kind that children prefer. The film is dubbed into Slovenian and is suitable for children aged 5 and up. From September 16 to the beginning of October, you can also watch the full-length feature film Tahaan, made by the Indian director Santosh Sivan, in Kinodvor. The film takes us to India, which is very far away from us and therefore quite strange to us. We meet an eight-year-old boy, Tahaan, who lives with his mother in the middle of a troubled Indian landscape called Kashmir. Tahaan fights for his best friend, the lovable donkey Birbal, who is being taken away from him. The donkey is sold and the boy goes over the high mountains on his way to get it back. Both films will be accompanied by workshops and other activities for children. Even in October, Kinobalon will be very lively. We will learn how Mongolian nomads live (October 16 and 17) in the film that the City of Women festival will bring to Kinobalon: Cave of the Yellow Dog, directed by the Mongolian-German author Byambasuren Davaa. At the end of October, it's time for the FOFI children's film festival, and in November, Kinobalon will also be a guest at the 20th LIFFe festival, which introduces a new section of films for children.
