From as many as 139,554 submitted photos from 166 countries, the jury made a short selection of those who will compete for the highest honors at the Sony World Photography Awards this year.
Already the seventh Sony's competition in order, divided into professional and amateur groups, brings stunning glimpses of wild animals, colorful nature, happy moments and peaceful life. Despite the fact that the rules allow minor post-production corrections that improve the final look of the photos, there is a special group available for extraordinary manipulations with motifs on real shots.
The winners of the open and youth categories will be announced on 18 March, while the professional photographers will receive a gala announcement on 30 April, and the full shortlist will be on display in London in May. Somerset House.
