In September 2017, the Lipica stud farm will host the largest equestrian event in the history of Slovenia - the 2017 world championship in double harness racing. It is one of the largest and most important equestrian competitions in the world. More than 65 drivers from more than 20 countries on 200 top competition horses will fight for the title of world champion.
Stud farm Lipica will host 2017 World Doubles Championship. The championship that will be the most high-profile equestrian event in the history of Slovenia and an important milestone in the development of Slovenian harness sports, will take place from 20 to 24 September 2017.

Lipica was already the organizer of the world championship in 2011 in a pony sleigh ride, and after the renovation of the estate, an even more prestigious event is expected. It will be on September 20, 2017 at the Lippi Hippodrome a ceremonial opening took place, on September 21 and 22 the drivers will compete in dressage, and a day later a real adrenaline bomb awaits us in Kobilarna, that is marathon ride with challenging obstacles. She will announce the winner on September 23 skill driving. They will also be in the competition - if they are successful in the qualifications four drivers of Kobilarna Lipica on the Slovenian Lipizzaner, namely Miha Tavčar, Mitja Mahorčič, Klemen Turk and Marko Memon.
