You don't have to go far for breathtaking natural sights. Our southern neighbors have their very own "pamukkale", namely the place Kotli. Trust us, you have to see this live at least once!
You don't have to go far for a fairy tale. Our Slovenia is a fairy tale, and so is our southern neighbor, Croatia! This is confirmed by the place Boilers, which is located in Istria and is part of the town of Buzet. The place is known for waterfalls of the river Mirna, which is surrounded by water mills. Here the waterfalls have made cauldron-shaped depressions on the rocks, which, of course, gave the place its name. Kotli village used to be full of people engaged in various crafts and economically the strongest village in the Hum region, but today it is protected rural area, which really resembles the Turkish Pamukkale, translated as "cotton castle".
It's a small town 17 spectacular water terraces, where the contrast between turquoise water and white limestone creates a very cozy setting. This place is definitely worth your visit, both for its relaxing nature and for its variety legends, which you will hear about this place. One of the most famous is that giants once collected rocks and built small cities on the green hills in this place. They are still hiding somewhere in the woods today, so you never know what adventure your next trip might bring! 😉
