Plans for the Krystall Hotel, which will be built by 2017 in a fjord near the town of Tromsø in Norway, have seen the light of day. Thus, it will become the first European hotel floating on water and the first hotel in the world in the shape of a snowflake, through the glass ceilings of which guests will be able to enjoy a magical view of the aurora borealis and the snow-covered forests of the Norwegian coast.
Tromsø there is a city in Norway that most people in the world have never heard of. But we can say with certainty that it will be different in the future. Next year, the construction of the Krystall Hotel: a hotel, will begin near the city with five stars in the shape of a snowflake, which they will build on the water.
The hotel, which is characterized by futuristic lines and whose appearance fits perfectly into the beauty of the winter surroundings, should be built by 2017 and if all goes according to plan, he will be by then the first European hotel on the water. The company is in charge of the construction Dutch Docklands, and he is the architect behind the unusual project Dutchman Koen Olthius. The company Dutch Docklands is currently working on another floating hotel - Ocean Flower in the Maldives.
Hotel Krystall will float on water on a concrete base. Floated is not the right word: in the extreme case, it will be able to move from its center by a maximum of 3 meters, which the guests will not be able to feel. He will be at the hotel 86 rooms, spa and wellness center and conference halls. An additional advantage of the hotel is sustainable green technology behind him, because he will want completely self-sufficient.
Despite all the technology, the unusual location and the exceptional architecture, the hotel planners expect the construction price to be only about 15% higher than it would be for a "normal" hotel. The project should still pay off for them: the hotel's location will certainly attract the guests the most. It is already located within the arctic circle, far away from light pollution, which is an ideal location for watching the magical aurora borealis. It will be for this purpose the ceiling of the hotel was glass, which will allow visitors to enjoy a perfect night view right from their hotel room.
2017 is still a long way off, but we are excited about the idea already!
