Let us be enchanted by Spanish rhythms and treat ourselves to a flamenco evening. Compañia Tercio Flamenco comes to SiTi Teater from Madrid with the performance La Rosa de Penal.
The passion and longing of velvet flamenco will mark an evening of Spanish culture, which the show La Rosa de Penal, in which dance, singing, acting and guitar are interwoven, brings with interpretation songs by Antonio Molina (milonga flamenco). The story speaks about a sad prisoner, who is rotting behind prison bars. Through the latticed window, he sees a bud growing into a rose in its freedom, and is so obsessed with its innocence and beauty that he falls in love with it. Looking out the window becomes his greatest happiness, and escaping from prison, which would bring them together, is his strongest longing. But eventually the in love prisoner realizes that the rose is also growing old and suffering in her life, so he decides to stay in prison and keep her beautiful and young in his heart.
Show, which premiered last November on the CIBRA film festival, was created from different stories and common interests of the dancers Anje Mejač and Saška Šašić La Sali, who study together in Madrid flamenco, and they will be accompanied by Spanish musicians.
