Although there has been some speculation as to whether or not there will be a new album, it is now out of the question. The news was confirmed on Leonard Cohen Event 2014 in Dublin. Amazon France has listed the album's release date Popular Problems September 22, a day after the singer's 80th birthday, while the official release date is still unknown.
"Leonard Cohen has been hard at work on his next studio album of brand new songs," reads the foreword to the Leonard Cohen Event 2014 booklet written by Jarkko Arjatsala, who, among other things, runs Cohen's official website. “He told me to let you know that the new Popular Problems album will be released at the end of September, right after his 80th birthday. "A tour for the release of the album is not announced."
The last album Old Ideas Leonard Cohen published years 2012, who achieved 3rd place on the Billboard chart, the highest to date.
