The company AP Works recently presented the Light Rider electric motorcycle, which is made with the help of a 3D printer. It is the first motorcycle of its kind, which gives it an ultra-light construction. It weighs a mere 35 kilograms!

3D printing is becoming an increasingly important player in the industry. Not only small objects, the future also promises a building made with the help of 3D printing. Well, you can take a look today the first electric motorcycle, which was created in this way. It sounds like a name Light Rider, and they made it at AP Works. For its manufacture, its engineers used bionic algorithms.

Although it is an ultra-lightweight motorcycle, the construction is extremely strong. Thanks to layering or alloy meshing Scalalloy (aircraft aluminum, which has the strength of titanium) with a thickness of up to 30 micrometers.

Electric motorcycle Due to the special skeleton, Light Rider weighs only 35 kilograms and despite the small and weak engine - this one has 6 kW of power and 130 Nm of torque - it achieves good results. From 0 to 45 km/h it needs everything 3 seconds, and its top speed is decent 80 km/h. Electric range per charge is 80 kilometers. An e-bike is available in limited quantities, as AP Works intends to produce the most 50 copies, for which you must pay a reservation in the amount of two thousand euros, which is not even a twentieth of the price of the engine, which is (calculated) 51 thousand euros.
