The drama Liliom is considered one of the best works of the Hungarian writer Ferenc Molnár. It speaks of a desire, a longing that transcends modest life circumstances and leads an individual to fulfill his dreams. The main character is driven there by his uncompromising love for his girlfriend Juli.
Lily he is not an average drama hero, because he follows his dreams regardless of the consequences and makes no compromises. He works not only for survival, but above all for love. He wants to live an exciting and full life with his girlfriend Juli, despite their miserable life circumstances. Alone too they do not succumb to a conformist life, as most people live it, but they also stand behind the consequences of their actions.

The world in the play Liliom is very similar to today's world, in which many people do not allow themselves to dream, and on the other hand, they are also subject to socio-political circumstances. It marks the drama like this a critical view of the post-socialist transition society.
