A limited series of J&B whiskey bottles

In the field of graphic and industrial design, we have already seen many extraordinary things, but the actual tattoo on the product has not yet been one of them. Sébastien Mathieu thus sets new milestones with his series of 25 unique whiskey bottles in a tattooed image.

Owner of a Parisian tattoo studio Only the Sphinx Sébastien Mathieu is for a recognized brand of noble drink J&B created a very special look. He decorated the bottles, covered in durable skin-colored latex, using the modern technique of tattooing with electric needles. It took him a patient 20 hours of work to finish each colorful and extremely realistic masterpiece.

The idea was born from the fact that the drink J&B Rare Scotch Blend appeared in London in the second half of the 16th century under the patronage of merchants Justerini & Brooks. At the same time, during the same period, the tattoo trend from the Royal Navy spread throughout the city, culminating in 1862 with the tattoo of the Prince Bertie, which later became King Edward VII, and caused real enthusiasm for the upper class all over Europe.

As an inspiration to celebrate this period, the French studio Button Button connected with Mathieu, and his design-remarkable creations in handsome wooden boxes are on display in Public Drugstore and shopping center L'éclaireur Rue Herold in Paris.
