Ljubljana Fashion Week came to a close with yesterday's autumn-winter 2016/2017 fashion shows of the brands MORRO, ALMIRASADAR, Maio, Pentlja Concept Store and Draž. Over the course of four days, more like twenty designers.
MORRO (Tatjana Kalamar Morales), collection name: Back to the Form
"The Back to Form collection is a redefinition of form. Quality is the soul of a dress. It's trust. It is a personal confession of belonging. Yes, we need or want a dress. For MORRO, both are important: perfect functionality and emotional aesthetics. Women's and men's business attire require excellence in the same manufacturing process and all the details that are important to notice the difference between touch and feel; between use and success. The women's blazer is made in the same way as the men's jacket, which is a real rarity in the world."
ALMIRASADAR (Almira Sadar), collection name: SPORTS COLLAGE // SPORTWEAR COLLAGE
"The collection is intended for all women who feel good in comfortable, soft and functional clothes - for all lovers of "athleisure" clothes who combine yoga pants with other clothes even during the day. The collection represents a mix between sportswear and leisurewear: oversized tracksuits and cozy homewear, belted with wide belts in cashmere, wool and knit fabrics. The silhouette of the clothes adapts to the way of tying, the clothes are suitable for all figures."
Maio (Maria Krnić), collection name: OLIVER TWIST
"The men's collection was inspired by the movie Oliver Twist, after which it was named. I paid a lot of attention to the details that complete the whole and present Oliver in a unique way, I moved away from the classics by combining materials like tweed with sporty cuts, interesting stitched pockets in the shape of a circle and prints with quills, because back then people didn't write with ballpoint pens, but with pens. We all know the story of Oliver Twist, who had to steal to survive, which is also the reason for the deep pockets on his trousers. The colors are autumn, combined with gray."

"Pentlja Concept Store opened its doors in the fall of 2015 with the aim of offering a selection of Slovenian and regional design products in one place. In addition to clothing, jewelry and various fashion accessories, the store also offers selected cosmetics, home accessories, regional fashion and lifestyle magazines and gifts. As a wonderland of beautiful things, the Pentlja store is located in the old city center of Ljubljana and is designed as an experience where time stops."
Draž (Urška and Tomaž Draž), collection name: DRAŽ fall winter 2016 2017 FORMA FORMULE // DRAŽ fall winter 2016 2017 FORMING THE FORMULA
"The autumn-winter collection Draž 2016/17 was created in cooperation with the MATHEMA institute. Their translations of mathematical formulas into colorful artistic images are applied to the knitted structure. In the wearable version, they keep the original color scale, and with their dynamism, the graphic displays dictate the non-uniform silhouette of the clothes. A sharp contrast is represented by the black and white treatment of Paleolithic op-art patterns. Both sources of inspiration are united by a rationalistic approach to the material, transformation for the sake of transformation itself and, above all, regularity in the irregularities of mathematical representations and irregularity in the regularity of op-art patterns, which preserves an organic touch behind the seemingly cold, uniformly repeating pattern."
