Who are Mira and her guide dog?
Mira is a young pensioner, a very lively and vital lady from Pameč near Slovenj Gradac. The dangerous tick-borne disease borreliosis deprived her of her sight, but it did not take away her smile and the courage to face new challenges with a great deal of positive energy and hard work so that she can live an independent and full life.
As part of the Foundation, L'OCCITANE helps the blind and partially sighted around the world
The true story of L'OCCITANA is, from the beginning, also a story of charity and the fight against blindness. Today, there are almost 285 million people in the world with impaired vision, although as many as 80 % defects are preventable. In order to facilitate socially responsible actions and initiatives to help the blind and visually impaired around the world, L'OCCITANE established its Foundation in 2006. Because L'OCCITANO's products appeal to the world of the senses, their packaging is also equipped with Braille, which simplifies the choice for blind and partially sighted people and enhances their shopping experience.
