When Mexico meets minimalism and raw elegance

Fashion ally H&M opens its doors this fall to the Lorena Saravia x H&M collection, which, with its signature cactus wind and urban edge, delivers more than just clothes – it delivers a manifesto of modern feminine power with a touch of Mexico. Viva la moda!

If Frida Kahlo walked at New York Fashion Week, she would probably wear Lorena Saravia x H&M. And maybe a pair of her cowboy boots – no kidding. H&M is back this fall with a new design collaboration, this time with renowned Mexican designer Lorena Saravia, who knows how to package tradition in urban timelessness and infuse it with power.

Lorena Saravia x H&M: When jeans speak the language of high fashion

Saravia brings her signature icons to the collection: the uncompromisingly tailored denim jacket and cowboy chaps – a piece we secretly want to wear but need the courage to do so. Contrasting these are soft, feminine evening silhouettes: bare backs, draped blouses, desert hues that seem to have escaped from a dream of eternal summer.

While it acts as a sophisticated fashion manifesto, the collection is also very wearable. From the office to the heated streets of Mexico City – or Ljubljana, if we’re being honest – each piece is imbued with a mission: Dress a woman who doesn't wait for someone to give her power. She already has it.

Power in the details – and grandma's earrings

One of the most charming aspects of the collection are the accessories that reflect the designer's personal story. The earrings and buttons are inspired by her grandmother's lion earrings - yes, grandmothers can be fashion icons too - while the wide-brimmed hat, brown suede boots and belt with decorative buckles act as a fashion homage to the Mexican soul.

"When I founded my brand, I wanted to create something distinctly Mexican – quality, precise tailoring, a modern aesthetic. Mexico is often perceived as a macho society, but women have always been a force to be reckoned with," says Saravia.

H&M with admiration and respect

Ann-Sofie Johansson, creative advisor at H&M, says of the collaboration:

"What I admire most about Lorena is her ability to create something new, fresh, and completely her own from heritage and Mexican craftsmanship. The collection is a love letter to the land, while also embodying contemporary elegance."

Why this is a collection you need to see – and wear

Because it's more than clothes. It's a stance. It's a tribute to women who can walk in boots (with or without high heels), dream with their eyes open, and don't need permission to take up space. Collection Lorena Saravia x H&M is a celebration of identity, boldness and that quiet confidence that starts with a good cut and ends with an upright posture.
