Antwerp, early seventies. A free-thinking twenty-year-old student becomes close friends with a long-haired revolutionary and occasionally visits her parents, former internees. In order to pay the rent, she takes a job as a babysitter for a four-year-old girl with an orthodox Jewish family. Horrified by the rigid tradition that dictates the life of believers dressed in black, she initially tries to bring the spirit of modern times into the apartment, but later learns to be different: to respect and accept.
