Louis Vuitton is once again proving that it can give sports a luxurious makeover. The fashion house has relaunched its Monogram Sports collection, which features mini-scenes of various sports – from tennis serves to downhill skiing – on bags and small leather goods. The original collection debuted earlier this year, and now it's back in two new colorways that promise to make your pocket look a lot more haute couture.

There is an interesting story behind the collection: the inspiration for it is said to come from the Louis Vuitton archives from the 1960s, when the brand first experimented with a sporty aesthetic – back then, with leather travel bags for golfers and tennis players. The creative team behind today’s version wanted to bridge the gap between sophisticated fashion and everyday life. The idea is that luxury doesn’t stay locked in the wardrobe, but accompanies its owner to the playground, the gym or – why not – for a morning coffee after a run in the park.

Among the products Louis Vuitton collections are found wallets, card holders, pocket organizers and passport cases, all adorned with scenes reminiscent of mini-artworks by Dutch painter Werner Bronkhorst – except this time the sports heroes clash against a backdrop of the iconic LV monogram. The original colors – “Ski White”, “Pool Blue”, “Tennis Clay” and “Golf Green” – are now complemented by new “Basketball Blue” and “Skateboard Pink”, which bring a touch of urban flair and summer memories of concrete parks.

Louis Vuitton has long been synonymous with bold accessories, where the monogram becomes a stage for imagination and color experiments. Let's just remember the legendary moments: bags in the shape of footballs, lobsters or binoculars - all in the service of high fashion. The new Monogram Sports collection is a bit more subdued (at least by Vuitton standards), but still carries that recognizable spirit - a little fun, a little luxury and not a bit of boredom.

The collection is already available on the official website Louis Vuitton and at selected luxury retailers.

And if you're one of those who would rather ski than spend – good news: Louis Vuitton has also just launched a new ski capsule. So you can be elegant even on a snowy slope.
