LOW START OF THE CLUB MARATHON
The fresh concert season at Club K4 is being solemnly opened with as many as four performers of this year's Radio Študent Club Marathon! The club marathon is a concert tour that was created twelve years ago at the hearth of New Rock, which took place every year in Križanke in the 80s and 90s. It is intended to support young people or unestablished musical performers of a wide range of genres and the local club scene in Slovenia. As many as 99 musical groups and performers applied for the Club Marathon 2012 competition, among which the expert committee chose the following:
FOE SPRE GLASS OM – hypnotic, trip-hop electronica, occasionally crossed by thick distortion-enhanced guitar and mild industrial spice.
THE KOJN – a noisy and dirty rock attitude, based on punk/hardcore aesthetics and explosiveness, which defys any conventional arrangement patterns.
TIMO CHINALA – genre-diverse club music by a producer from Prekmurje, which ranges from minimal and techno to newer offshoots of contemporary dance genres.
ČAO PORTOROŽ – a mixture of indie rock, pop aesthetics and punk energy, the band considers as a tribute to the alternative rock of the nineties on the one hand and the new wave forms of jugo school on the other.
THRUSH! - Garage trash pop, minimal, punk, alternative and rock have been structured and materialized over time on the "no-budget" demos of the band, which seethes with powerful bursts of power.
ROK ZALOKAR TRIO – the red thread of the band is "navigating" between moods with the help of elements of jazz, immediacy of rock and the lyricism of classical music.
So come and see for yourself why the Radio Student Club Marathon has been famous for years as the truly noisiest club caravan - on Thursday, September 20, in the legendary basement of the Ljubljana underground: Club K4!
