Panasonic is also fighting the mass camera battle. The new model, which is called the DMC-G2 and is part of the Lumix G family, has a touch-sensitive LCD screen. The G2 is the first system camera with interchangeable lenses that allows control via the screen. When developing the new model, they focused mainly on the ease of management and further improved it by installing a touch screen. A simple touch of the subject on the LCD allows the user to set the autofocus function, which further controls the shutter opening. Using a variety of advanced autofocus (AF) functions, which bring benefits such as high speed and precise contrast control, is very simplified for the average user. To browse and review photos, it is enough to drag your finger over the captured photo or just press on the thumbnail (icon) and thus enlarge the image over the entire screen. It's no surprise that the DMC-G2 won the TIPA Award for Best Advanced Compact System Camera.
