A luxury holiday home that seems to float above the sea stands in Australia. The illusion of floating is most obvious if we stand at the beginning of the long bridge that leads to the entrance of the house. In any case, the view from all other corners of the house is breathtaking. For the lucky ones who manage to rent the house, it - raised as much as 40 meters above the ground - offers an incredible panorama of the southern Australian coast. Rent is around $3,120 for one week.
2. Pigeon Point Lighthouse Hostel, Pescadero, California, USA
Is a villa on the cliffs too much of a financial burden? Fifty kilometers south of San Francisco is a hostel in a lighthouse perched on a cliff above the Pacific Ocean. We can choose a shared room (27 euros) or a private room with a double bed (73 euros). For larger groups, the entire lighthouse is available for around 163 euros. We have a fireplace, a wooden promenade along the cliff and a jacuzzi on top of the cliff, which is only for hostel guests.
3. Malimbu Cliff Villa, Lombok, Indonesia
In Malimbu Cliff Villa, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the ocean or the top of Mount Agung, which is in Bali. We can take a dip in the infinity pool and ask the villa bartender to bring us a refreshing cocktail. The villa can be ours for as little as 634 euros per night.
4. Villa Liam, Elia, Mykonos, Greece
Five bedrooms await us in Villa Liam, and the sensation of the villa is certainly the master bedroom with a terrace that offers a view of the Aegean Sea. The villa, perched high on the cliff, has a swimming pool, a garden and a path to the beach. During the summer season, for a night in the villa (including cleaning service), we will pay as much as 2,800 euros, but if we want a cook in the house, we will of course pay extra.
5. Villa Mia, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
The Mexican villa has 15 bedrooms, 19 bathrooms and a barbecue and bonfire area, 2 tropical bars, a squash court, a 16-person Jacuzzi and an infinity pool. Thanks to all the caretakers, cooks and waiters in the villa, we won't have to lift a finger, and we will also pay fairly for it: a night in the villa will cost us around 3480 euros, during the holiday season around 3950 euros per night, and if we manage to collect 30 people and decide for at least four days of vacation, we will pay around 470 euros per night.

In the Italian villa on the cliff, 14 people can stay at the same time, which we will still need - a night in the villa costs around 1690 euros, provided that we stay for seven nights. The good news is that by staying at Villa Aretusa, we'll get a cocktail and breakfast every morning while the maids change our sheets. We also have outdoor showers, a roof terrace, a pizza oven and a seawater pool.
7. Villa Amanzi, Kamala Beach, Phuket, Thailand
The 740 square meter villa sits on a cliff above the Andaman Sea. Its luxury consists of six bedrooms, a chef, an infinity pool that juts out over the rocks and steps to the sea. The price varies between 2347 euros per night and 4694 euros per night.
8. The X House, Barcelona, Spain
The house on a steep hill offers a view of the Spanish valley. The X-shaped house was the owner's desire, as it offers views of the ocean and mountains, while offering enough privacy. The X House, which thus offers visitors a wonderful view of nature and its diversity, has 297 square meters, four rooms and a living room on two floors. Of course, the house also has a swimming pool. The X House can be rented for around 2,800 euros per week.
9. Cabrita Cliff Haus, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands
This house (if, of course, we can call a mansion with almost 700 square meters a house) stretches on the edge of a cliff, and for a moment it seems that it will now fall into the water.
